T3 Total

The T3 Total test is a blood test that doctors use to check how much of a thyroid hormone called T3 is in your blood. This hormone is very important because it helps your body use energy and stay warm. Doctors use this test to find out if someone has a thyroid problem called hyperthyroidism, where the thyroid gland is too active. It’s also used to make sure the treatment for hyperthyroidism is working right. Another thyroid problem this test can help spot is called T3 toxicosis, where there’s too much T3 hormone but other thyroid tests might look normal.
