Estradiol Test

Estradiol is a hormone that helps check how well a woman’s ovaries are working and watches how eggs are developing for help with getting pregnant. This hormone is very important during the monthly cycle of a woman. Sometimes, the levels of estradiol can be too high if the ovaries are working too much. This can happen when doctors are helping a woman get pregnant or during pregnancy. If the levels of estradiol are too low, it might mean the ovaries are not making enough of it, which can happen if the ovaries are not working well or if a woman is getting close to menopause. In men, if estradiol levels are too high, it can lead to the development of features usually seen in women, like breast growth.
