Progesterone Test

Progesterone is a special hormone that plays a big role in the menstrual cycle and pregnancy. During a part of the menstrual cycle called the luteal phase, which happens after the egg is released from the ovary, the amount of progesterone in the body goes up a lot. This helps prepare the body in case of pregnancy. Also, when a woman is pregnant, the level of progesterone keeps getting higher from the 9th week all the way to the 32nd week. This increase helps keep the pregnancy healthy.
